Up The Arse! has been published for the last seasons and is Arsenal's second longest running fanzine after The Gooner The first issue was in October 1992.
Up The Arse! started as leftover bits from the The Gooner's North Bank Times
and two spoof fanzines "One-Nil Down, Three One Down" and "The
Goner". Our "Highbury High"
parody finally saw the light of day in issue 50.
Our working title was "...And Going Off Is Number 11" - a reference to Anders
Limpar for you youngsters. The front page became the cover of UTA! #1. There
were 32 copies were produced, of which the editor still has 16! Don't be
suckered by dealers - if you've got one, it is still worthless!
We've had a lot of fun over the years. Our celebrated run in with Hewlett Packard's lawyers finally led to them dumping their sponsorship of T*ttenh@m H*tspur after we named and shamed them in public.
Other successes include:
The web site was started in January 1996 when we were the first Arsenal Fanzine on the web. The original pages were on CompuServe, so if you've come here from that link, you'd better update your favourites pretty damn quick! We moved to Demon Internet in September 1996 and were quite happy there for 4 years. However, since Mr. Aardvark does this sort of stuff for a living, we moved to Active ISP (now Active 24) in August 2000 so that we can bring you more interactive pages.
Criticism is always welcome, especially from Spuds fans... after all, it's what fills our letters page. However, if you want to complain about the use of frames, tables, targeting Microsoft browsers or anything else web related, don't waste your time... we don't care!
Thanks for getting this far
Please note that all stuff on this site and in the fanzine is copyright, a
concept that the mainstream media thinks only applies to their stuff. We don't
write this stuff as free filler for journalists who are too bloody lazy to do
their jobs properly.
However, we don't mind fair use by other genuine fanzines as long as you
don't use the whole bloody issue and give us some credit.
